This hand made cabinet is from 100 year old chestnut salvaged from a feed mill in Carthage Tn. The side panels are actual grain boards used in that mill. As seen in the last photo this created a wonderful dimensional pattern as the wood was worn away by the impact of the grain coming down the chute. The alligator paint door (finished with 3 coats of low-voc poly to seal it) is salvaged from a 100 year old house that was torn down in Nashville. It includes the original lock set hardware and porcelain knob and hinges. The cabinet was made by a master carpenter with sliding dovetail joinery and full mortise and tenon framework.
