This great mirror was at one time a bathroom mirror for an old house in Murfreesboro Tn. Apparently every time they painted the bath room they also painted the mirror. The original oak frame is covered in a thick layer of plaster and had many, many coats of paint (along with some toothpaste) on top. The mirror glass itself is 1/2 inch thick and has a curved bevel all the way around it that matched the frame. I sanded back the many layers of paint and left the original patina which I enhanced with a dark brown tinted Brie Wax, that drys to a very hard finish. It has been taken apart and cleaned and has a new sturdy backing and hanger. Antique coats hooks finish off the mirror which makes it so very practical.
